Shawn Yancy Biography
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Shawn Yancy is an American news anchor and broadcast journalist. Yancy is an anchor for WTTG-TV, Fox 5 News in Washington, D.C. She co-anchors Fox 5 News at 6 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm.
Previously Shawn co-anchored Fox 5 Morning News from 5 am to 7 am. Yancy joined the Fox 5 News team in September 2001. Her second day at work turned out to be her first big story in Washington: The September 11th terrorist attacks. In 2006, Shawn was awarded an Emmy for “Outstanding News Anchor”.
In 2007, Yancy was awarded a Regional Edward R. Murrow award for an investigative series on The Asbestos Problems inside the National Institutes of Health. Shawn has been honored with various Associated Press and Golden Quill awards for her reporting on breaking news.
