Patrick Aryee Career

Initially, Aryee started his career in broadcasting working behind the scenes on a series of BBC nature programs, such as the David Attenborough presented Madagascar and Frozen Planet. Additionally, he worked as a researcher on Attenborough: 60 Years in the Wild and behind the scenes on Springwatch in 2011. It was after spending so much time as a researcher that Patrick realized his ambition to front his own documentaries.

He co-hosted the BBC series Super Senses: The Secret Power of Animals in 2014. The series was comprised of three episodes, with a single episode focusing on scent, sound, and sight. When discussing the new series, Aryee said “I’ve always wanted to be a part of a series that could combine David Attenborough’s knowledge of the wild and Brian Cox’s fascination with science.

Super Senses does this perfectly and in essence, allows us to “take the lab into the wild”. In 2016, he co-presented the BBC series Ingenious Animals alongside other naturalists such as Giles Clark and Lucy Cooke. In 2020, he became the face of Sky Nature which is a new channel dedicated to programs about the natural world.

He presented the channel’s first original content titled Wild Animal Babies. In 2021, he presented the part series titled Impossible Animals and later joined the new ITV magazine show titled The Pet Show. In addition, he has created a range of podcasts and has written several articles for various publications. He has also given various speeches about nature and wildlife.
