Kori Withers Biography
A native of United States, Kori Withers is an American singer-songwriter who is best known as the daughter of the late American singer Bill Withers and his wife, Marcia Withers. Kori attended Columbia University where she graduated with a degree in English. She later received a Masters of Fine Arts from NYU’s Tish School of the Arts.
Bill Withers, was an American singer-songwriter and musician who performed and recorded from 1970 until 1985. Withers recorded several major hits, including “Ain’t No Sunshine” (1971), “Grandma’s Hands” (1971), “Use Me” (1972), “Lean on Me” (1972), “Lovely Day” (1977), as well as “Just the Two of Us” (1980).
He won three Grammy Awards and was nominated for six more. Withers’s life was the subject of the 2009 documentary film Still Bill. Withers was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
