Jimmy O. Yang is a Hong Kong-American actor, stand-up comedian, and writer best known for his role as Jian-Yang in the HBO comedy series Silicon Valley. He plays the role of Josh Lin in the 2021 Netflix romantic comedy film Love Hard.

Jimmy had his first stand-up show as “Lowball Jim” at the Ha Ha Comedy Club in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. Soon after graduating from college, Jimmy got an internship with the financial consulting firm Smith Barney in Beverly Hills, California. He later returned to San Diego to finish his graduation requirements. In San Diego, he sold used cars, DJed at a strip club, and also seated customers at a comedy club.
He made his television debut in 2012 on the CBS series 2 Broke Girls. In 2014, he had his first late-night stand-up appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show. He played the role of Tang-See in season 9 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He later guest-starred in the tv show Silicon Valley. He later became a regular on the show.
Jimmy played the character of Bernard Tai in the film Crazy Rich Asians. On May 8, 2020, Jimmy’s comedy special “Good Deal” was released on Amazon Prime Video. As a writer, Jimmy has authored the book How to American: An Immigrant’s Guide to Disappointing Your Parents.
