Hunter Metts Biography
A native of Franklin, Tennesse, Hunter Metts is an American singer and Software Developer who became known as a contestant on season 19 of American Idol.
He began his job as a Software Developer in July 2019 at Owen Technologies. He however quit his job after he was selected after auditioning for American idol.
Hunter had previously worked as a Junior Full Stack Software Developer at Nashville Software School. He later went on to work for Relode.com in MAy 2019.

Metts is the son of Jimmy and Jamie Hinnat Metts. His parents have been married since October 24, 1992. His mother is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington.
Metts has a sister named Mattie Metts, The two siblings are very close and it is reported that Mattie quit her job at Disney so that Hunter could audition for American Idol.

Metts is in a relationship with a girl known as Elli Helmintoller, a nursing student at Belmont University. It is not known when the couple began dating but their Instagram photos date back to 2017.

Metts auditioned with the song “All the Pretty Girls” by Kaleo and all the three judges voted yes sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round
During Hollywood Round, Metts was shown in the “Indie-Folk” category of the Genre Challenge, alongside Christina Daugherty, Graham DeFranco, and Cassandra Coleman.
He sang “Everything I Wanted” by Billie Eilish and was later shown in a duet with Ava August called “Ten-Oc” singing “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn.
Metts sang “July” by Noah Cyrus during the Showstoppers Round. He advanced to the next round which is the top 24.
Top 24
For his Top 24 performance, Hunter sang”Chandelier” by Sia and “Who Will Save Your Soul” by Jewel in a duet with her. He received enough votes to be considered “safe”.
Top 16
During the Top 16, Metts sang “Skinny Love” by Bon Iver. He received enough votes to become a Top 12 finalist and in order to celebrate, he sang “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt.
Top 12
Metts sang “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova (from Once). He received enough votes to be considered “safe” for another week.
