She gained after playing the role of Adriana Masters on Hollywood Heights (2012). In addition, King played the role of Summer Newman on the show titled The Young and the Restless (2012-2021). She also portrayed the role of Clementine Hughes on Life in Pieces (2015-2019). At the onset of her career, she was mainly credited as Haley King. She has since been credited as Hunter King.

Hunter King Dexter
In the 2006 television show, Dexter, Hunter played the role of teenage Debra Morgan. Debra was born to Doris (Kathrin Lautner Middleton) and Harry Morgan (James Remar) on December 7, 1979. She is the foster sister to Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall). At the time of her mother’s death of cancer, Debra was only a teenager.
After her mother’s death, she decided to become a homicide detective just like her father and used his gun to practice shooting. Debra was devastated when Harry died of an apparently accidental overdose of heart medication – unaware that he in fact committed suicide, unable to live with having trained Dexter to get away with murder. Soon afterward, she joined the Miami-Metro Police Department, where he had worked. She spent three years in patrol and then another two years in a vice before being promoted by Captain Tom Matthews (Geoff Pierson) (a friend of her father), becoming a Homicide officer at the start of the first season.

Hunter plays the main role of Summer Newman in the show The Young and the Restless. On the set, she was able to play for more than 551 episodes. Summer New man is the daughter of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow), but for one year was believed to be the daughter of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) because of Sharon Newman, Nick’s former wife, tampering with the paternity test results. Summer was later involved in a cyberbullying plot with Fenmore Baldwin (Max Ehrich) and Jamie Vernon (Daniel Polo).
In August 2021 after contract renegotiations with The Young & The Restless, the characters of Summer and Kyle were written out and moved to Italy which saw Michael Mealor and Hunter King out of the show.
