Holt began singing on an Oklahoma City radio station at the age of six. By the time she was aged 10, she was performing with bandleader Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Georgia won a number of talent and beauty contests.
In the 1950s, she had a few small television and film appearances. Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin, and Dinah Shore booked Holt to appear on their television talk shows after he performed in a singers’ workshop (Phil Moore’s “Get Your Act Together”) in July 1978 at Studio One in Los Angeles.
