She later started working under Marc Forgione’s father Larry Forgione later at several restaurants around France, New York, and Los Angeles. She is currently the executive chef at Butter restaurant in New York City and was previously the executive chef at The Darby restaurant before it closed down.

She is a chairperson at the Museum of Food and Drink’s Culinary Council. Alex competed in the 2007 “Farmers’ Market Battle” on The Food Network’s Iron Chef America. She later became a judge on the show. She has also competed in the fourth season of The Next Iron Chef, and The Next Iron Chef. Alex has previously worked as a Sous Chef to Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian.

Alex has also hosted a number of tv shows including; The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli, and Alex’s Day Off. She has appeared as a judge on Food Network Challenge, Chopped, Cooks Vs.
