A native of Mumbai, India, Aasif Mandvi born Aasif Hakim Mandviwala is a British-American actor and comedian. On August 9th, 2006, he began appearing as an occasional contributing correspondent on The Daily Show. He was promoted to a regular correspondent on March 12th, 2007.
Moreover, he is the lead actor, co-writer, and producer of the web series Hala in the Family. The show premiered on Funny or Die in 2015. In addition, Hakim is an actor, writer, and co-producer of the HBO comedy series The Brink. Aside from being an actor, he is also an author.
He authored a book titled No Land’s Man. Mandvi was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree by the Macaulay Honors College after delivering the commencement speech that year. Currently, he appears in the role of Ben Shakir in the CBS psychological drama Evil written and created by Robert and Michelle King.
